Carolyn Hill
I work in the areas covered by the Medical Practices of  Lynton, Ilfracombe (including Combe Martin and Woolacombe) Braunton and Brannams in Barnstaple. I see carers on a one to one basis and encourage them to tap into Devon Carers Services and support them to access other means of support that may be relevant to their individual situation. I also help facilitate Carers Support Groups and am working on developing Carers Information Surgeries in the area I cover.

Sarah Ince
As a carer support worker I work in the areas covered by the medical practices of Hartland, Bradworthy, Chumleigh and East Street surgery in South Molton. I am in the process of setting up information surgeries at the practices that I cover. The main focus on my role is supporting carers on a one to one basis, either in person at a place convenient to themselves or over the telephone. When I work with carers I make sure that they all receive information on Devon Carers services.

Bryony Maycock
As a Carers Support Worker I give practical and emotional support to carers throughout the areas covered by the six medical practices in Great Torrington, Fremington, Holsworthy, Shebbear and Black Torrington. The main focus of my work is supporting carers on a one-to-one basis, either in person at a place convenient to themselves, or over the telephone. I am dedicated to support carers by raising awareness of benefits and other entitlements, exploring options for taking a break, advising and signposting, assisting with contact with Adult and Children’s Services and helping individuals to engage with and access the services offered by Devon Carers. I hold monthly information drop-ins at Castle Gardens Surgery in Great Torrington and Holsworthy Medical Practice and at the beginning of 2012, I set up a carers support group that meets monthly at Holsworthy Hospital – these sessions provide individuals with an opportunity to meet other carers regularly, talk about their caring role and build confidence by supporting each other. This group is carer-led and meetings are tailored to address any outstanding concerns that attendees might have or to allow the group to receive training on a range of topics including emergency first aid and moving and handling.
